Itinerary (subject to change)

DAY 1: Evening check in at the international Airport Frankfurt Terminal 1. We fly direct with Discover (Star Alliance - Lufthansa group) overnight to Windhoek, Namibia (9:55 pm – 08:20 am+). 

DAY 2:  Windhoek – Otjiwa Private Game Reserve (app. 240km on tarred road – app. 4 hours driving time)

After arriving at Windhoek International Airport we will do our last minute shopping before we depart at around 11:00 AM from Windhoek via Okahandja. During the afternoon, we will have a game drive on one of the first private nature reserves in Namibia. Overnight at Otjiwa Safari Lodge with dinner, bed and breakfast.

DAY 3: Otjiwa Lodge - Rundu (Kaisosi Safari Lodge) (app. 575km on tarred road – app. 7 hours driving time)

Today we will have a long drive ahead of us. After an early breakfast, we will depart at 8:00 AM. During the course of the journey, we will pass the small towns of Otjiwarongo, Otavi, Grootfontein and eventually arrive in Rundu. Halfway through the journey we will find a nice local place to have lunch (excluded). During the late afternoon, we have time to relax and enjoy the beautiful sunset over the Kavango River. Overnight at Kaisosi Safari Lodge with dinner, bed and breakfast.

DAY 4: Rundu – Mahangu (Mahangu Safari Lodge) (app. 230 km on tarred road – app. 3.5 hours driving time)

We depart early from Rundu. We will drive along the Kavango River and through local villages with traditional living. Cattle, donkeys and goats share the road with us and the speed is limited. Our lodge is located right on the banks of the Okavango River. During the afternoon, we plan to visit the Popa Falls, which are rather rapids than falls. The vicinity with lush vegetation is special. Overnight at Divava Okavango Resort with dinner, bed and breakfast.

DAY 5: Mahangu Safari Lodge

During the course of the morning, we will have a fun-filled boat cruise on the Okavango River. We aim to see crocodiles, hippopotamus and a rich birdlife. The birdlife in this area is exceptional, with over 400 species recorded. Species that can possibly be seen are the pel’s fishing owl, the white-backed night heron, the African skimmer and many more. During the afternoon we will join a game drive inside the Bwabwawata National Park with an open Game viewer vehicle. We will encounter antelope and with a bit of luck elephant and buffalo. Overnight at Divava Okavango Resort with dinner, bed and breakfast. 

DAY 6: Mahangu – Kwando River ( Lianshulu Bush Lodge) (app. 250 km on gravel road – app. 4.5 hours driving time)

After breakfast we drive through the famous Caprivi Strip towards the Kwando River. We will arrive for lunch. During the afternoon, we will join a combination of driving and short boat cruise on the Kwando River. This is one of the most unexplored areas in Namibia and wildlife is abundant. Elephants are often seen in big herds. Overnight at Lianshulu Bush Lodge with dinner, bed and breakfast.

DAY 7: Kwando River – Zimbabwe / Victoria Falls (app. 350 km on gravel road – app. 6 hours driving time)

Today we will cross two different border post. After an early breakfast, we will depart at 8:00 AM via Katima Mulilo towards the border of Namibia and Botswana and shortly after we cross the border to Zimbabwe until we finally reach our Lodge in Victoria Falls. We have time to relax during the afternoon hours and will go on an optional birding walk. Your guide will point on various birds that are not found in any other regions of the country. Otherwise, you are more than welcome to enjoy the swimming pool. Overnight at the Elephant Hills Hotel with dinner, bed and breakfast.

DAY 8: Zimbabwe / Victoria Falls

After Breakfast, we will visit the famous Victoria Falls, one of the 7 natural wonders of the world. Where we will have a walk through the rain forest and have beautiful opportunity for great photography. During the afternoon, we will join a Sunset Boat cruise on the great Zambezi River. Overnight at the Elephant Hills Hotel with dinner, bed and breakfast.

DAY 9: Zimbabwe / Victoria Falls

After breakfast, everyone is completely free and allowed to do any excursion they want. Activities such as Scenic flights over the Falls, River rafting, Bungie jumping, Fishing, Guided Hiking and much more are available. In the Afternoon, we will have our last sunset alltogether followed by an extremely special experience for dinner: Called the ‘’Boma Dinner’’. This is a truly African Experience, with local food, local music and a true African atmosphere. Overnight at the Elephant Hills Hotel with dinner, bed and breakfast.

DAY 10: Victoria Falls

Our Safari will come to an end today. Depending on your flight schedule we will depart towards the Airport for your departure flight.

DAY 11: Morning arrival at Frankfurt Airport at 05:20 am.

TOUR PRICE INCLUDES: International direct flight with Discover Lufthansa Group to Windhoek (FRA-WDH 9:55 pm – 08:20 am+). Return flight with Discover Lufthansa from Victoria Falls (VFA-FRA 3:25 pm – 05:20 am+) to Frankfurt, all airport and security taxes, meals on board, one check in luggage (23 kg), transportation according to our program. Safari in a small group – with a qualified English speaking safari-guide in a coach. Accommodation and meals: 8x overnight at lodges, 8x breakfast, 8x dinner. All excursions listed above are included. All entrance fees according to the program, mineral water during travel times, porter fees, service of an Interra Reisen escort, all rooms/chalets with private facilities, wifi, access to a pool.

SINGLE ROOM SUPPLEMENT: € xx for 1 night. Persons booked on share basis must pay single room supplement if no share is available (the single room supplement will be charged after the tour). Share basis means double or triple occupancy

SUPPLEMENTARY COSTS: any additional / optional excursions or activities, all lunches during your safari, visa fees for Botswana and Zimbabwe, beverages, tips, personal items and insurances, laundry.

TRAVEL DOCUMENTS: valid US Tourist Passport (more than 6 months valid after entering Namibia) for military and civilian personnel. Non US-citizensmust meet proper Visa requirements.

PAYMENT: 10% down payment per person by booking. Rest payment is due 90 days prior to departure.

CANCELLATION CHARGES for flight with hotel overnight trips: up to 96 days prior to departure 10% of the tour price; 95-61 days prior to departure, 20% of the tour price; 60-35 days prior to departure, 50% of the tour price; 34-16 days prior departure: 75% of the tour price; 15-7 days prior departure: 90% of the tour price; 6 days until day of departure: 100% of the tour price will be charged.
